■Exhibition Details
Presenting a new acrylic-on-canvas work
(Artist's comment).
'I have always been very interested in line as well as colour. For example, the jagged lines of Benshang. Matisse's broad lines. I admire such attractive lines and I have been drawing my own lines, devising them in various ways. Thin, inorganic lines drawn with a raven's mouth. Rough crayon lines. I have explored various ways of drawing lines, such as lines drawn with oil and sprinkled with pigments, but this time I decided to draw lines without drawing lines. Lines left unpainted. The line is concave and the surrounding area is raised with paint. Lines like that. I was excited by this idea and created a lot of works.’ Iichiro Tsukamoto
